The exhibition, that took place in the renowned Pergamonmuseum, provided the opportunity to have a view at a diverse part of the cultural richness of Saudi Arabia.
From Saudi side the exhibition was a unique step in the presentation of its cultural heritage. Spectacular findings from prehistory and early history as well as ancient evidences of Saudi Arabia formed a special highlight, that had largely been terra incognita for the archeologically interested public. Just as sensational were objects of the Ka'bah and the history of the city of Mecca, which were exhibited for the first time in Europe.
"Roads of Arabia" was an important project regarding foreign affairs as well as on a cultural-political level. Archaeology and cultural heritage provided a great platform to intensify bilateral contacts and place it on a sustainable basis.
